Asteroids

With the increased knowledge of the sizes of asteroids in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, it is natural for astrologers to look for possible influences. Four large asteroids, Vesta, Juno, Ceres and Pallas, have been singled out for extensive study. In 1986, the astrologer Demetra George from Oregon, published her work Asteroid Goddesses: The Mythology, Psychology and Astrology of the Reemerging Feminine. This book has been reprinted several times and is the seminal book (in my opinion) about the meaning of asteroids in birth charts.

I have been including the asteroids in my readings for over ten years now and I believe their influences, although subtle, add significant information to some people's charts. And these charts are not just women's charts, because we all have a feminine side and a need to be conscious of its development. I would not say, for example, that only women can be nurturing. These asteroids represent a transformational process happening in individuals and in society that reintegrates the feminine into our awareness.
